Prorope HMPE Rope 4 mm to 16 mm

It is popular in arboriculture too: often used as a felling / lowering line, and we can supply it as standard with a professional eye splice at both ends. It is also widely used as manure scraper rope, where low weight and corrosion resistance matter as much as they do in forestry.

You order by the metre and receive exactly the length you need. Maximum continuous length per reel is 200 metres. If you order 270 metres, for example, we supply one length of 200 metres and one of 70 metres. Shorter orders, such as 10 metres, are always supplied as one continuous length.

Low elongation

Prorope HMPE rope elongates by a maximum of about 4% at break, versus 15–20% for nylon or polyester rope. That means almost no spring-back: the force you apply reaches the load directly and predictably. On winches this reduces the risk of a dangerous snap-back if the load is suddenly released; on a manure scraper the low stretch gives an immediate response to every movement, without lag or slack.

Prorope HMPE or Dyneema SK75?

Choosing between this HMPE rope and our Dyneema SK75 rope? Both are UHMWPE fibre: strong, light and resistant to water and corrosion. The difference is mainly fibre grade — and therefore price. SK75 is braided from genuine Dyneema fibre and offers the highest breaking strength per diameter; this HMPE rope is an excellent alternative at a sharper price.
